We also collect technical information needed to run the service, including device identifiers, app version, authentication identifiers, logs, and basic usage events.

CloseFrens uses location to show nearby plans, contexts, people, and places. Location helps us match you with relevant activity in your region.

You can control location permissions from your device settings. Some location-based features may not work if permission is disabled.

We use push notifications and in-app notifications for meetup invitations, confirmations, chat activity, nearby plans, and important account updates.

You can manage notification permissions from your device settings and app settings.

Messages, proposals, event details, participant status, and meetup activity are stored so the app can show your chats, plans, confirmations, and history.

Do not share sensitive personal information in chats or meetup descriptions unless you are comfortable sharing it with the relevant participants.

CloseFrens uses friendship and connection data to show trusted circles, close friends, invitations, and visibility controls.

If contact-related features are enabled, we use that information only to help you find people you know or manage social connections in the app.

We use information to provide the app, personalize nearby plans, send notifications, improve safety, prevent abuse, debug issues, and respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

You can request permanent account deletion from Settings -> Delete account in the CloseFrens app.

When an account is deleted, we remove or anonymize personal account data unless we need to retain limited information for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute handling.

We keep account and meetup information for as long as needed to provide CloseFrens, maintain safety, comply with legal obligations, and operate backups.

Some backup copies may remain for a limited period before they are overwritten or deleted.
